5c69ad0ecd build system: drop PLATFORM_LINUX
PLATFORM_LINUX is a hidden configuration option which is disabled by
default and enabled at over a hundred locations for features that are
deemed to be Linux specific.

The only effect of PLATFORM_LINUX is to control compilation of
libbb/match_fstype.c. This file is only needed by mount and umount.

Remove all references to PLATFORM_LINUX and compile match_fstype.c
if mount or umount is enabled.

6937487be7 libbb: reduce the overhead of single parameter bb_error_msg() calls
Back in 2007, commit 0c97c9d437 ("'simple' error message functions by
Loic Grenie") introduced bb_simple_perror_msg() to allow for a lower
overhead call to bb_perror_msg() when only a string was being printed
with no parameters. This saves space for some CPU architectures because
it avoids the overhead of a call to a variadic function. However there
has never been a simple version of bb_error_msg(), and since 2007 many
new calls to bb_perror_msg() have been added that only take a single
parameter and so could have been using bb_simple_perror_message().

This changeset introduces 'simple' versions of bb_info_msg(),
bb_error_msg(), bb_error_msg_and_die(), bb_herror_msg() and
bb_herror_msg_and_die(), and replaces all calls that only take a
single parameter, or use something like ("%s", arg), with calls to the
corresponding 'simple' version.

Since it is likely that single parameter calls to the variadic functions
may be accidentally reintroduced in the future a new debugging config
option WARN_SIMPLE_MSG has been introduced. This uses some macro magic
which will cause any such calls to generate a warning, but this is
turned off by default to avoid use of the unpleasant macros in normal
circumstances.

This is a large changeset due to the number of calls that have been
replaced. The only files that contain changes other than simple
substitution of function calls are libbb.h, libbb/herror_msg.c,
libbb/verror_msg.c and libbb/xfuncs_printf.c. In miscutils/devfsd.c,
networking/udhcp/common.h and util-linux/mdev.c additonal macros have
been added for logging so that single parameter and multiple parameter
logging variants exist.

The amount of space saved varies considerably by architecture, and was
found to be as follows (for 'defconfig' using GCC 7.4):

Arm: -92 bytes
MIPS: -52 bytes
PPC: -1836 bytes
x86_64: -938 bytes

Note that for the MIPS architecture only an exception had to be made
disabling the 'simple' calls for 'udhcp' (in networking/udhcp/common.h)
because it made these files larger on MIPS.

b5d9ba8fe6 i2cset: fix 'i' & 's' modes (3 extra bytes were sent)
When 'i' or 's' modes are selected block array is filled from offset 3
(blen = 3) but copied to data.block buffer from offset 0 so first 3 bytes
contains garbage from stack.
The buffer that is sent is also 3 bytes too long due to those extra 3
bytes.

0d1eaf407c i2c-tools: don't include linux/i2c-dev.h
Installing headers from upstream i2c-tools makes it impossible to
build the busybox version due to redefined symbols. This is caused by
the fact that linux/i2c-dev.h from i2c-tools overwrites the one from
linux uapi and defines symbols already defined by linux' linux/i2c.h.

Drop this include and simply re-implement the relevant defines from
linux/i2c-dev.h in miscutils/i2c-tools.c.

Tested by building on systems with and without i2c-tools headers.

59f8197624 i2cdump: don't use common_bufsiz1
Commit e6a2f4cc changed the way common_bufsiz1 works. Now it needs to
be initialized before using, but i2cdump wasn't updated by said patch.

Since the fact that we're using common_bufsiz1 here isn't obvious (no
G_INIT() macro, no other global variables), drop it and simply
allocate the integer array required for block reads on the stack.

Tested with i2c block read on a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop.

1fe75b8ef1 i2cdump: use I2C block mode for the 'i' mode parameter
Currently we're calling i2c_smbus_read_block_data() for both 'i' and 's'
mode parameters. If the bus doesn't support SMBus block mode, then the
i2c access ioctl() fails. Make i2cdump behave compatibly with upstream
version by calling i2c_smbus_read_i2c_block_data() for I2C block.

and we're running in auto mode all addresses will be skipped resulting
in an empty table being printed.

This is caused by not restoring the auto mode after it's been changed
for certain address ranges - we need an additional variable to hold the
temporary state.

314742747d i2cdetect: don't die on addresses already in use by drivers
We can't use i2c_set_slave_addr() in i2cdetect, as we have to check for
EBUSY after calling ioctl(I2C_SLAVE) and print 'UU' on busy addresses
instead of bailing-out.

While we're at it: reorder definitions of local vars in i2cdetect_main().

7ca5c51cc8 i2c-tools: only try /dev/i2c/* if opening /dev/i2c-* fails with ENOENT
Trying to access /dev/i2c/* on every error after opening /dev/i2c-* can
mislead users who e.g. don't have root access. Instead of bailing-out
with "permission denied" we currently print "no such file or directory".

Fix it by trying open("/dev/i2c/%d") only if we got ENOENT.

Upstream i2cdetect tries to get any info it can from /sys and /proc even
when invoked by an unprivileged user, but we don't want to add unnecessary
bloat.
