Mike Frysinger d9e4ddc38b we need to use the compiler driver to invoke LD as LDFLAGS is in the form the compiler driver understands, not the form the linker itself understands, so trying to invoke ld directly and passing it LDFLAGS while invoking the compiler driver in other places and passing it LDFLAGS does not work
